"Education is not the answer to the question. Education is the means to the answer to all questions."
-- William Allin

Teaching Philosophy

Education is not just the communication of fact and theory, it is the process through which we cultivate and liberate the mind.  For education to be truly successful we as teachers need to create clear learning objectives for our students, differentiate instruction, and utilize an arch of assessment methods to ensure student success.  Connections must also be drawn between curriculum and the lives of our students in order to establish relevance.  Most importantly, however, students must leave our classrooms with the tools to become self sufficient lifelong learners.  As students leave our respective institutions they do so with more than the ability to answer questions we had for them.  They leave with the ability to answer the questions that will be asked of them.
